For a material components, which cost planing method is better cost calculation

Our requirement has when we use material components for project,which cost plane method is better for cost calculation of material components.

Please suggest.

Hi Prathap,

It will depend upon are you using network activities and then assigning the Mat. Components to get the plan cost..

or if you use only WBS then unit costing would be way forward.. so how your projects are structured I would suggest for either Network Costing or Unit Costing ...

could you please check which costing variant you are using by OKYG t-code?

& which costing variant is assigned for material component?

so cost plan method we called unit costing in case your organization having whole project object as PD WBS NW and Activity.

Hi Prathap,

When you are using the Network cost planning - you can assign the materials in material components tab and also have functionality to create the PR automatic and scheduling.

If you use WBS element than use unit cost planning.
