JSPM opens blank

Hi,

We are on Netweaver 7.02 only JAVA stack.

Trying to upload the patches via JSPM. It opens blank. SDM also opens blank.

Visual Admin and Config tool are opening fine.

The trc files says: com.sap.sdt.ucp.pce.contrl.ExecutionDialog: Unable to process dialog scroll Dialog. Couldnot sent dialog message.

Communication link is closed. There is no write access.

Could not execute Parent action with type unit and name JSPM.

Kindly suggest.

Hi Ambarish

1. Are you logon to system using SAP SIDADM user id ?

2. You can use the SUM tool to update the SP patch.

Hi SS,

1)Yes logged in with SIDADM.

2)Only few component patch needs to update not the complete stack.

Hi,

Add the following log.

/usr/sap/***/JC00/j2ee/JSPM/log/log_2015_04_19_03_44_09/DETECT_SYSTEM_PARAMETERS

_01.LOG.

Communication link is closed. There is no write access

Also compare the OS permissions for the JSPM/SDM on your other systems vs this one ans as sriram said just check user too.

Hi,

The file is attached.

Yes I am using SIDADM to login to JSPM. Permissions are all good.

If that doesn't help, i would suggest you to use SUM Tool for the same.

In SAP NetWeaver 7.0, Java Support Package Manager (JSPM) has been replaced by the Software Update Manager (SUM) and is no longer supported. Refer below link:

Java Support Package Manager (OBSOLETE) - SAP Library

Hi Pawan,

Thank you for the link.

I have already gone through the link before opening this message. But this is not the same for my issue.

SUM would require a xml file.

We are not generating one as only few patches have to be uploaded.

Hello Ambarish,

As nicolaas requested, can you provide/attach the log file ?

/usr/sap/***/JC00/j2ee/JSPM/log/log_2015_04_19_03_44_09/JSPM_MAIN_1_01.LOG

>>only few patches have to be uploaded.

If you are using a Java only system, you can choose Manually Prepared Directory option which doesn't require a stack file. Refer to the below note for more information:

Hi Ambarish.

Give use th exact what version of components you are running.

1335151 - SAP NetWeaver 7.02 SPS02: Release Information JSPM

After SPS02 you need to use SUM as per above note.

Refer to 1589311 - Replacements of outdated tools via SL Toolset in particular on this note reference the attached document JSPM_support_strategy.pdf.

As for your error:

As per the link Viewing Log Files - Java Support Package Manager (OBSOLETE) - SAP Library also advised by the other, please attach the copy of the file JSPM_MAIN.LOG.

Check your java and JSPM environment variables and also versioning of you X window being used to launch it.

Kind Regards,

Johan

I did update my SPS10 to SPS12 via JSPM about 5 months back. Its only now that its not working and acting strange.
