Hi every one,
We have scheduled a job to transfer time entries which were booked against network & activity on daily basis, but for some reason the time entries are not getting posted against the network (Only for certain network, see attachment), though it is not showing any error message when i saw the spool log for the job in SM37. When i ran CAT5 in test mode it is showing time entries which needs to be booked against the network and activity.
Can some one help me out to transfer the time entries via the job??
I have attached the screenshot from CAT5 transaction.
Hi Ram,
Please try to post via CAT5 manually, if the network in the error list get posted successfully then I feel you need to change the variant settings.

Hi Sandeep,
We posted the time entries manually successfully, we didn't get any errors while processing the entries. The entries has been transferred to PS and actuals has been booked.
Can you please explain how the variant settings has impact over these and how can we change the same.
Regards,
Ram
Hi Ram,
Variant will determine the selection of personnel numbers and other parameter defined on CAT5 selection screen. If manually posting is happening on network then it means network are fine.
What I can suggest is, you can create a new variant and then run it thought SM36 and check in SM37.
Go in CAT5 transaction, and untick test run, log and dates transfer can be ticked. Then save. Then variant attributes screen will open save the variant with a name and description .lets assume you saved the variant with name TEST. If you wish you can on save the variant on certain number of network or personnel number, it depends on you to keep it blank or run variant for limited number of records.
Now go in SM36 and click on STEP, in the ABAP program TAB enter "RCATSTPS", then select the variant using search help and you will find the variant defined above i.e. TEST.Check and save from bottom of the window. Come back once. Then click on START CONDITION, Date/Time - define a date and time for the variant "TEST" to run as a JOB.
Check in SM37 you will find the schedule JOB run time and date. After the JOB is finished you check report CJI3 for actual posting of network.
This will work fine, if in case you need few more fields to be defined in variant then I will suggest to create a variant via CATA instead of CAT5, their you will get more options to post time.

Sandeep
Hi Ram,
I saw the screenshot but what is wrong with you it is ok and display 3 entry record with those network and activities so if system is not transferring record to PS database by background job or CAT5 t-code then check one more time if still face same issue then please raised OSS to sap it might be sap bug.
please check also network status that should not be teco and clsd like that.

Sanjeev

Hi Ram,
Did you check the timing the entry has been made, i can see the posting date and date created is different from the screenshot.
Is these network gets posted in the next batch job run or its not picking at all.

Hi Terence,
The time entries was created on 14-04-15 by the user for 3 days (31-03-15 , 01-04-15 & 02-04-15), since it was created on 14-04-15 the job is pulling the entries from 14-04-15 but it could not post the time entries against the network till now.
The variant for the job has been maintained in a way that it will pick time entries for 999 days earlier from the current date.

Ram
Hi Ram,
Thanks for the info.
Did you check any errors available in COFC. If there is any standard SAP error, you should have get the error message here.
Since the dates are around month end, you need to check whether that is affecting in any other way.
This looks like a data issue may be on entering time sheet, since this is affecting only one network.
Please check, whether this occurs frequently or this is the only time, you can also try CATA.
If you can replicate the scenario, then you can raise this with SAP.
Regards
Terence
Hi Terence,
I have checked in COFC and also in CN30, I couldn't find the entries there .
Month end closing was performed on March 28th so we don't think that will be a issue.
Can you please be more specific about "Data issue" because it would be helpful for me to explain it to my team. We are having this issue for a couple of networks.
Hope this is the first time we have got this untraceable issue.
We have tried a lot to replicate the issue but couldn't, Please provide some ideas to take up the issue further.

Hi Ram,
Its been a long time i worked with UOP
I suggest a work around temporarily, check whether you can do it. Try to cancel the time sheet entered, let the Job run today and tomorrow update the same again, check whether this is picked up in the batch job.
Get the client permission to cancel and enter the time sheet for one network to analyse the issue.
In another case, identify if the production copy / pre-production server holds any of these networks, so post time sheet and check.
Data Issues
1. Do check the spool on the day it ran, since the error message some times will not occur again, so the first spool should hold the error message. Like network is locked, so it didn't run.
2. Network / project status
3. Personal number validity
4. Batch Job running time, whether it coincides with other batch.

Terence
Hi Terence,
We ran CAT5 manually to post the time entries and it got posted successfully. The actuals has been booked against the respective network & activity.
We tried to get the spool log, but the log is available only for three days. We couldn't get the log which is more than three days old.
Other points which you have mentioned we have checked already, but we couldn't get any use full points from that.
Thank you for your time.
Regards,
Ram
