Does ASE 16 support for NFS mounted file system.
Is ASE 16 supporting NFS mounted file-systems on networked shared devices (NSD) for its master database & other databases?

A lot depends on the NFS source. NetApp SAN devices often expose their LUNS as NFS devices - which ASE can actually use as raw partitions or file system storage. This is fine and has no difference wrt to ASE vs. any normal SAN LUN mounted at the ASE host.
However, remote filesystems mounted from a different Unix/Linux/Windows host is *strongly* not recommended. Stale NFS handles and other problems will simply wreak havoc on the database performance as well as stability. If you *must* use a distributed file system, you should look into Veritas Cluster File System (part of VSF) - one of the few CFS's that actually works well for DBMS operations. However, it assumes that the filesystem devices are on a shared SAN or storage pool as well ....
