ITS being called from HTTPS

We have installed a portal, external ITS 620 SP23 with a 4.6c backend system.

When I log into the portal and call a R/3 transaction it single signs me on successfully and I can call the transaction. I know ITS and SSO is configured correctly.

We then introduced a SAP web dispatcher with SSL Termination to present the portal to the internet. So we call the portal on HTTPS it logs into the portal still with HTTPS. We then call the same R/3 transaction in the portal and get an error message:

<i><b>No Service Name Specified

Your request did not contain a service name. Please provide a service name as part of the URL.

Example URL:

http://.../scripts/wgate/CreateSO/!

or...

Session Already Terminated

There is currently no session running that might accept this request."</b></i>

The servers are all in the same domain "company.com".

The browser is https but I beleive the R/3 system is being called in http. Is there something missing on ITS parameters etc?

Hello Simon,

It sounds like you have a reverse proxy situation. I would recommend reading notes 507293 and 582445 and 494984. You could also turn the wgate trace level higher to see what the how the ITS is being called.

We are using IIS to access our external ITS box. We had to put a separate SSL certificate on the IIS.

Are you using a transaction iview?

I use a URL iview.
