disp+work.EXE failing and stopping

Former Member
0 Kudos

Hello,

We have SAP ECC installed on our Windows 2012 R2 virtual machine. When I go to start the ECC system from the SAP MMC the disp+work.exe process is yellow and then grey out as stopped. I have just upgraded our version of SQL Server from Evaluation to Standard as i thought this dated installation was the issue..... obviously not!

Below is the dev_disp log file - any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hi Zac,

Could you share updated trans.log & dev_w0 log file from the system ?

Thanks,

Former Member
0 Kudos

Hi Gaurav,

Thanks for your quick reply.

My understanding of getting dev_w0 is to navigate to /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS<SYSNO>/work . Unfortunately my permission levels on the VM are not allowing me too see sap file. I will contact the administrator and get the correct permissions so I can share with you. Unfortunately this may take some time but endeavor to share with you ASAP.

As for the trans.log i read you get this from the CMD by entering  "R3trans -d". Is this correct - it is not recognized? I will check with the admin

Thanks again for your help and i wish i could share with you now but hopefully it will be soon enough

Hello Zac,

You should run the r3trans command with SIDadm user. If you have credentials for SIDadm you could access the WP logs as well.

pavan

Thanks Pavan - I will request access for the SIDadm user

Stay tuned!

Are you using Standard Edition of SQL server?

If yes, then you should check the below note.

Hi Zac,

If possible try to patch the kernel with latest available & refer SAP Note  1937447 - Impersonate Session Security Context error

Try to restart complete system once & share the trans.log file as well .

Hope this will help you.

Regards,

Hi Gaurav,

Sorry for the delay - had a training course this morning and then had a lunch on.

Im having authentication issues with the link you provided - might be because im currently sorting out my SAP partner account....

Im having trouble locating the trans.log file - do you know where i can find it? does that link explain how to re-set the MSSQL credentials?

Thanks

Yes it was my partner account - all fixed now and i can view the link.

Thank you for sharing - I will look into this and learn how to correct. Any tips anybody can give me would be more than helpfull

Thanks

Okay Gaurav - I am following the instructions here and I have hit a road block in finding my version of NetWeaver. Every where I look I need to use the GUI to see this information. I cant get SAP running to see the GUI.

Any ideas on how to see version of NetWeaver without GUI

Thanks Pavan - Again!

There it is!

Standard Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT

SAP supports only Enterprise Editions.

As per note  62988: All supported SQL Server versions are tested by SAP in the Enterprise Edition only. Therefore, only the Enterprise Edition is supported. The SAP support may not be able to solve problems that occur with other editions.
