Product master field control in EWM

Dear Gurus,

Is there any feature of field control in EWM product master with which we change the a optional field in the product master (/scwm/mat1) to display or mandatory field.

now, that is easy: Transaction Variants and Screen Variants - Application Development on AS ABAP - SAP Library

And not EWM specific.
