starting Livecache

Hello,

Every time that Livecache is started the report SLCA_LCK_SYNCHOWNERS is executed.

Starting the livecache with the different start options (LC10, report RSLVCSTART, from O.S level) this report is always executed?

Regards.

Hello,

1.

"Every time that Livecache is started the report SLCA_LCK_SYNCHOWNERS is executed."

- If you start the liveCache using LCA connection, for example - in LC10 transaction, and set this report as post-processing report in the Start liveCache section for LCA connection, then this report will run.

The actions of this report also included in the function of /SAPAPO/OM_DELETE_OLD_SIMSESS report:

954261     Function of program /SAPAPO/OM_DELETE_OLD_SIMSESS

which scheduled to run every 30min < recommended>, and the old locks from the lock server will be deleted in 30min or less after the liveCache will be restarted.

A. Review the document "Starting liveCache" at SAP MaxDB: The SAP Database - Documentation

- Starting liveCache - Database Administration in CCMS: SAP MaxDB - SAP Library

B. "As of SAP NetWeaver 720, STARTRFC is no longer included in the RFC SDK. For more information, see SAP Note 1581595 Information published on SAP site. You can therefore no longer use STARTRFC to call these function modules."

Hello Ruben,

1)
Please see the SAP note below:
954261     Function of program /SAPAPO/OM_DELETE_OLD_SIMSES...

2)
You must have set the report SLCA_LCK_SYNCHOWNERS as post-processing report in the Start liveCache section in the Report tab for the LCA connection. Check it in LC10 -> LCA connection -> Integration. When you restart the liveCache in LC10 successfully the post-processing report will run and the old locks from the lock server will be deleted.

Please review the below SAP note & schedule Standard jobs in the SCM/APO area:
800927  Standard jobs in the SCM/APO area

3)
During normal system operation of the liveCache as of SCM 5.0 if unnecessary locks from the lock server will be deleted by report /SAPAPO/OM_DELETE_OLD_SIMSESS, which should be scheduled regularly on the system & will take care of the task of cleaning old locks from the lock server.

4)
Did you schedule the report /SAPAPO/OM_DELETE_OLD_SIMSESS already to run regularly in your system in the liveCache relevant clients ? If not schedule it.

Hello Yashwanth,

Yes, this configuration was made, thanks.

My doubt is If I stop livecache with one of ways (lc10,report, O.S) the SLCA_LCK_SYNCHOWNERS report will be executed?

How can execute the starting and stop of livecache from O.S Level?

The prerequisites are :The RFC runtime and  RFC SDK libraries are installed on your local host (as part of the completeSAP GUI installation).

This means that you have the program STARTRFC, required to call the function modules.

I've installed SAP Gui 7.4 and these libraries doesn't appear.

Regards.
