Confusion regarding WM batch determination

Hi experts ,

Actually , during working on batch processing , arise some confusion over batch determination process in wm ...

I think , for WM batch determination process , it basically depends upon two - determinates ; 1. - warehouse no. , 2 - wm movement type .

But , thing is that , WM batch search procedure didn't assign with both of them . ..

so , my question , if search procedure is not assigned , then how could batch no. is getting determined and internal batch no. has been generated during warehouse activities ?

Picking strategies can be maintained on the storage type level for stock removal, that will help the system to determine the appropriate batch codes based on the strategy you define there.

During GR the system can create a batch code based on the number range you have maintained in customizing.

Hi,

In Warehouse management, Batch determination is just used for Goods issue & stock transfer purpose based on factors like "Status" & "Shelf Life ".

For the Inbound case the batch creation happens in IM and same gets copied into WM when you execute a Putaway activity using Transfer orders in WM.
