I have the following scenario. The requirement is given at the end. Is there any way to store program specific Registration Number in Student File while giving registering the student to program.
Sr# | Student No. | Program | Registration Number | Status | Comments |
1 | 000025 | BSEE | BSEE01123000025 | DEREG | Registered in Fall 12. De-registered due to poor academic record in Spring 14 |
1 | 000025 | BSEE | BSEE01143000025 | DEREG | Re-admitted in as new admission in Fall 14. Completed his program. No credit is given from previous admission as per rule. |
2 | 000025 | MSEE | MSEE02183000025 | DEREG | Got new admission in MSEE program and passed and completed MS program |
3 | 000025 | MBA | 1234567 | REG | Got admission in another master level MBA program. We changed the Reg.Number scheme here |
4 | 000025 | Professional Practices | SC78765 | REG | Registered in short course along with registration in MBA |

Hello Muhammad,
1. each relationship between a student (ST) and program (SC) has a study ID to identify it, would this be what you want? At Tx PIQST00 you can change the layout to add the "Study ID" to the registrations grid. The following image shows this "Study ID"
2. idea: develop a Z report whit a parameter to insert a registration number (Study ID) that will present information about the student's registration.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Michael

In addition to recommendations Michael Hobbins outlined above, in case the study object ID number range wouldn't satisfy you (considering the example numbers given in the table, I highly doubt it will), you can check the field "Admission Code" (shown in picture) in Application/Admission dialog on PIQST00. Of couse, if you don't plan to use it for other processes.
If admission code doesn't satisfy you (it's limited to 12 characters) you can consider adding a custom field named "Registration number" to customer include of HRPAD530 (CI_PAD530)
With this way, you can control Registration Number starting from student's application. You can fill the Registration Number field whichever stage you'd like to (application stage, admission stage, registration stage)
After all of this, you can develop a simple Z report to enable users to look for students and their program registration with parameter "Registration number".
