Purchase Reqs Generated to maintain Safety Time

Hello Experts,

Another question.

Have maintained a safety time on a material of 12 days supply.  We are running SNP Heuristics and system is creating purchase reqs, however the reqs are not being created early enough to support the required 12 days of supply.  The first Purchase Req is created with a date 3 weeks after the Days supply drops below the desired 12 and looking out to the future it never recovers.

When we review the reqs that SNP created in ECC I can see that MD04 is telling us to reschedule in the reqs to the date that I would expect.

Safety Days supply is maintained in APO on the Product Master and is also present in ECC on MRP Views.

Why is SNP not creating the reqs on the correct date?  We do not have a production horizon that would be impacting this.

There is no PDT that would be pushing it out either.

Any ideas?
Thanks

Hello Adam,

1- Check the value of Stock Transfer Hor in the product master. or

2- Transport duration in the transportation lane, or

3- Receiving calendar time streams in the location master for receiving location, or

4- Shipping calendar time streams in the location master for the supplying location,

Kind regards,

Mukesh

Hello Adam,

The safety days' supply is the number of workdays between the availability date of an receipt element that has to be created and the requirements date of a requirements element.

Scheduling is based on the production calendar from the location. Please check the same.

The key figure 'Workdays' is of much importance to the calculation of safety stock based on safety days' supply.

Hi Adam,

What is SNP planning direction (backwards or forward)?

Did you maintained Maximum Allowed Lateness for Receipt Element time in the product master - tab Demand - tab Pegging?
Also, please check if you have maintained Planned delivery time (tab Procurement) and the transportation time duration.

You have also take in consideration the availability of the components! The components have to be available at the desired date to produce the finished good.

Thanks,

Regards, Marius
