Hi,
I am getting issue in posting my MIRO entries for 2014, and I have activated the BCS part from 1st Apr 2015. System is giving the error of "FI 311 No Commitment Items entered in item xxxxxx"
I have posted few transactions in Mar 2015 through FB60 which were posted perfectly, few service entries were also posted which were entered after FM activation. In the year 2015 revenue invoices were also posted perfectly.
But there are these MIRO invoices where service entries were entered and released before activation of funds management. Now this has halted our ending process serverly. Consultants are working on the issue, but time is running out.
Meanwhile, can the below be the solution
I want to know, with this scenario can I deactivate Funds management and also deactivate "update" will this step enable me to post the pending MIRO documents where I am getting issue (Error FI311). I will stop posting for Apr 2015. Once these documents get posted I will again activate the Funds management and activate the "Update"
Please guide
Regards
Shailesh

That's ok, but... did you think or test in QA system, the system behavior before FM is activated?
Because in MM flow, you can't ignore the data history flow.
I mean, you have:
PR - PO - MIGO/MIRO
Suppose that you activated FM/BCS between PO and MIRO.
How do you expect the system react?
I think you must convert historical data to fill FM objects.
Check here at scn, a lot of discussion about this topic.

Hi Shailesh,
From my point of view, the best solution for your issue is create a derivation rule, so all the documents created in the system before the date of the go live must use and specific commitment item, fund center, etc.
If you want all those documents with imputation to the budget, you have to use the standar SAP programs for this requirement.
Of course your solution (desactivated/activate) is going to work, but is no good practice, for example if someone post a document during the desactivation, you are going to have problems in the future

HI,
i think you have missed some derivation for this type of transaction you can check whether your commitment item are deriving or not you can active "trace" from "FMDERIVE" tcode and check in the transaciotn. you have to write some derivation rules or check existing derivation master data and condition. This is not advisable for deactivation of FM.

Hello Joshi:
You are encountering error which is quite logical. When you activate FM , all historical data that is brought in to SAP must be reassigned or updated with FM account assignment. For your case , you need to create necessary derivation rules and reconstruct POs with FMN4N to avoid errors in subsequent chain document like GRN and Invoice verification.
Thanks

Hi Shailesh,
For your issue, FMN4N will not work as the FM account assignment fields are blank for all documents generated before BCS was activated.
As you said that the documents posted after BCS was activated are working fine, I believe you have done already your derivation rules in transaction FMDERIVE. For more details about the customizing for commitment item and funds center I recommend you to read SAP Consulting Notes 1267998 and 1268001.
I do not recommend you to deactivate PSM-FM as what you are experiencing is part of the PSM-FM project implementation which is to assign FM account assignments to the already posted documents.
Please use transactions FMCN/FMCT and check the documentation available in each one (really good information there).
I suggest you also to read the following SAP Consulting Notes:
1609379 Reassignment tools in Funds Management, which one to choose?
1226425 How to reconstruct FM documents from FI based on PO
189761 Reconstruction of data in Funds Management as of Release 4.5A
