Agentry Client - Allow Screen Sharing Feature

Hi All,

With the new Agentry Toolkit SDK3 SP07 PL01 there is a feature in the Application Security Definition called "Allow Screen Sharing when database is encrypted"

I couldn't find any information on SAP Help in the Agentry Application Definition section.

I'm assuming this flag means the screen definitions are shared among users on the same device? Can someone confirm if this is correct, specifically for WPF?

Cheers,

Stephen

Stephen,

No, this option is with respect to Android and iOS.  Part of the additional security when using an encrypted database is that the screen is also blanked out if a remote connection to the device occurs from an MDM type solution to try and help troubleshoot an issue.

Checking this will allow the Agentry client to still display the screen when using an encrypted database and trying to share the screen with something like a remote control application.

Just for reference:

This feature is based on SAP Agentry # AG-28771 and AG-28085 - you may check this on the release notes for this feature.

Symptoms:

- When using SOTI's MobiControl for device management - one feature is to do a screenshare/remote screen control

- After enabling the Agentry Encrypted Database (from 6.0.38.4) the remote screen only shows a blank screen. But when the encrypted database is not enabled, users can see the screen.

- This is really needed for remote debugging.

Resolution:

The resolution or fix was delivered in Agentry 6.0.52 (minimum build and merged on higher versions) to do the following:

1) Use the Agentry Editor new check-box  (allow Screen Share) that appears below the database encryption check-box.

2) It should only be enabled when database encryption is checked.

3) Only if this option is enabled then an Android screen may share the screen.
