storage type for production line staging

I have 25 production supply are that is currently used for kanban purchase orders & have 5 production lines.

As we are planning to implement sap wm with staging for production line to a fixed bin how much storage type I will need. Backflush will be done from fix bin.

Should I create 25 storage type 1 for each production supply area. kindly guide thanks.

This depend on the physical layout of the warehouse and ease of operation in terms of physical movement of stock. It would be very difficult  for anyone to suggest without looking the physical layout.

As per standard SAP storage type 100 is maintained as production supply area and you need to transfer all the stock to this area only when you want to consume using mvt 261, if the materiel is defined as Backflush then system will  consume the stock directly from the sloc defined

Hi Manish,

But can we define storage type like 100  & can have fixed bin in such storage type from where backflush can be done. Staging indicator in the control cycel will be 0.

please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes you are right provided the material is WM managed
