page weight and protocol between Wgate and Agate

Hello,

I have two question about ITS.

First one is the weight (size) of page that ITS produces. I need this to size the network between R/3 and Agate, Agate and Wgate, Wagte and final user

For security purpose I need, to know what is the communication protocol between Wgate and Agate, I read that is TCP/IP but does it support HTPP or RFC ?

Thanks for your help

Thomas

Thomas,

the protocol used between Wgate and Agate is only the TCP/IP. Between user browser and WGATE you can use HTTP or HTTPS; between AGATE and R/3 the system use RFC and DIAG protocol.

Hi Gianluca,

I'm not quite sure, whether this is sort of a misunderstanding but the connection between the ITS WGate and the ITS AGate is SAP protocol based on SAP NI. This can be secured using SNC just like the backend connection from the AGate to the ABAP system.

You can always save several of your browser sessions unique content to come up with the actual size of your html content.

I happen to be using a sapgui CIC0 transaction and then call an ITS ewb_webgui logon page. Taking advantage of the sapgui html viewer.

We decided to enable compression for WAN connections.

Realted SAP Notes: 818925, 578118, 733058, 375065, 733058,and 350646.

Hi Gianluca,

I read your document but doesn't find anything about the size of HTML page.

Hi Thomas,

the size of the HTML document depends on the application and the data that is displayed. It is not possible to give you a size. If you use ITS 6.20 you may want to check documentation for parameter ~http_use_compression on http://help.sap.com.
