disp+work.EXE not starting (not getting green) Request handling without progress

All,

we have a "fresh" installed Business Suite for ERP on MaxDB. System was running fine untill we restarted the system.

After the restart Databse did not come up anymore.

First we thought UAC is the problem but that has been solved and still not able to start.

Attached are the latest logfiles from work environment.

Any help is very welcome.

Thank you in advance

Heiko

Hey Heiko,

Reacting on >> After the restart Database did not come up anymore. <<.

So you have determined the DB is not coming up.

1. Please check your DB logs (I don't know the location on Windows).

2. Please execute the following command and paste the output here.

dbmcli -d MDB -u control,control -c db_state

dbmcli -d MDB -u control,control -c autolog_show

3. Please check that your log area location is not full.

Heiko,

Based on your output we can say that you DB is up.

1. Please form a stop/start of the DB and cross check with the db_state command after the start.

2. Please run "R3trans -d or R3trans -x" and upload the file here.

3. Please upload the dev_disp file as well as a dev_wN file.

4. Please check you DB (as I mentioned above) for the Log Area but also check you Data Area as suggested by .

"Curioser and Curioser said Alice"

The dev_w0 shows us the errors at least so that's good.

Please indulge me and perform parameter checks as per the following note.

1111426 - Database parameter check for SAP MaxDB/liveCache

OK, I now didn't go further through your document / recomendations. I tried to recreate the status and I got it.

I installed from Scretch with maxDB. Then I did the prep things before I did a client copy.

client copy test worked fine. Real copy timed out and I had to restart the system. After that noc chance anymore to get the disp+work.exe back online. Does this help to give me further tips?

Thank you

Heiko,

It does help as I decode what you are saying as:

After the initial install the DB came up and you could logon with no problems. You have then started a client copy and during the CC it times out (you restart system). Since then your system won't startup.

The fact that your DB does startup but you can't start SAP does suggest a data/log area full.

Please execute the following commands and paste the output here.

dbmcli -d MDB -u control,control -c info state

dbmcli -d MDB -u control,control -c info data

dbmcli -d MDB -u control,control -c info log

Cheers,

Amerjit

As you are on MaxDB first check for the space issues at the database side.

Install MaxDB Studio and connect to the database and check the Log area and Data area.

Thank you Benjamin, space is more than left on the drive.

Not really sure why my previous reply is not getting displayed.

I strongly believe you have issues at the DB side.

Like I have suggested before have you tried to connect to the MaxDB using the MaxDB Studio or MaxDB Database Manager?. If not then please try that.

Check the log area and data area from the studio.

The error code rcSQL=-10807 is about connection to the database.

Also check if the MaxDB services are running from services.msc

Hi Heiko,

Could you please do the clean restart of the SAP? Also kill if any hung processes are there and then restart the system after cleaning the shared memory using below command:

cleanipc <inst. no> remove

Hi Heiko

After restore the db, please run at OS command "R3trans -d" using user id SIDADM, afterwards you will get a screen output about the return code. Then you can find a file named trans.log under current directory.

Thank you, but nothing is happening.

Any further instruction?

Here is the output from the console. Thank you in advance for further assistance. /Heiko

C:\Users\msdadm>R3trans -d

This is R3trans version 6.25 (release 741 - 29.01.15 - 20:15:01).

unicode enabled version

Hi,

A log file(trans.log) would have generated at this location C:\Users\msdadm.

Please share the same.
