you can delete *.PAT and *.SAP files.

if you need them in the future, you can always re-download them.

thanks.

This being said, disk space is cheap nowadays. so, why not simply add a few GB of disk space?

Dear Rajendra,

.PAT file comes when you apply any Support package to sap system.

After successfully completing  the activity you can delete the file.

But You are working as shared transport dir and plan to update same support packge in other system in landscape then you can not.otherwise again you need to uncar sp.

Hello Raj,

The answer is Yes and No.

As Atul has pointed out, /usr/sap/trans is a shared mount.

If you are 100% sure that there is no patching going on with other systems then you can clean up old .PAT files. If you are in the middle of a patching then you need to take great care when you delete as you don't want to delete what has already been extracted for your ongoing patching.

You do NOT need to place your .SAR files in /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in as the .SAR files will be unpacked and the contents placed in the /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in directory during the extraction phase in SUM.

You can place you .SAR files along with your MOPZ xml in another directory which you then provide in the SUM dialog screen.

A.
