SAP Host Agent/SMD Clarification

Whether SAP Host Agent and SMD(Diagnostics) Agent can be installed with same
user account for e.g. "sapadm" under the same file system. Will be
there any conflict or not recommended ?

Hi Soma

When you install Diagnostics Agent the Diagnostics agent installation also installs sap host agent if it is not already installed.The IDs are different for both. Diagnostics agent uses <Diag.Agent SID>ADM and Sapadm is used by the host agent.

This is not recommended. I'm not sure whether it would cause a conflict or not, but the standard setup (and what is proposed by default in SWPM when performing a diagnostics agent installation, which also installs SAP Host Agent at the same time, if not already present), is to use sapadm for the Host Agent, and daaadm + SAPServiceDAA for the diagnostics agent, all three accounts to be local host accounts (not directory or domain accounts). As these accounts do not need to exist outside the context of the local host, there generally isn't an issue with having all three be created.
