IdM dispatcher is down - where/how to check the cause?

Hi IdM friends,

I am supporting a IDM customer and its IdM production dispatchers was stopped 3 - 4 times this month. When the dispatcher is stopped, I am able to restart it without any problem. I have also setup another dispatcher on the same server, the only purpose/job is to monitor the production dispatcher is working properly or not. Both dispatchers were stopped.

The IdM DB is running on a MSSQL load balance configuration with two DB instances and has a listener in the front.

I would like to know where to start when the dispatcher is dead again?

Best Regards

Hi Kiril,

Thanks for the good advice, though is not a solution to my question, but a good workaround to the problem.

Thanks,

Hi Chenyang,

You can start with Dispatcher Logs for errors.

Check with database team for deadlocks and if server was stopped/disconnected for some reason.

In my previous project, server management team do server restart or maintenance activities and never bother to start the IDM services. Make sure you advice them what services are to be started every time they work with servers. Thanks.

Kind regards,

Jai
