export and imported IR/ID objects are stored in the extension .TPZ When u export a object it will be stored ion the location defined in the exchange profile. when the file is exported u can import the file using the same procedure as export. as far i've seen the objects imported doenst requries activation and its mechanism is the same as the transprots in SAP

you can find the Export/Import location path.
http://<hostname>:<j2ee stack portnumber>/rep/support/admin/index.html
click on General Information you will find the path Under Application , Transport.
in case of repository -
\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\export.
In case of directory -
\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\xi\directory_server\export.

Hi Kumar,
IN XI Two ways you can transport 1. File System(it generates .tpz format)
2. CMS
If you want to export IR objects select the SWC and righct click then you can export single namespace or all the namespace or single objects also you can export.
once export any objects it create the .tpz file in export location.
Location addres you can find out IB Homepage -> Administration -> General information--->>Export folder
Go to export location copy the files and paste the import location.
Go to SLD OR IR OR ID and Import.
Thanks
Khanna
