Enabling ABAP Proxies on R/3 Enterprise-APPINT 200_620 needed? Where is it?

We are currently trying to enable our R/3 Enterprise 4.7 (WAS 6.20) to connect to XI 3.0 and use ABAP proxies. When we go to the SPROXY transaction, we get the error: "No connection to Integration Builder (only local data visible)." When we investigate the error, we see the running the program SPROX_CHECK_IFR_RESPONSE brings a web page with 404 Page not found.

In our R/3 Enterprise system, we actually have the XI plugins (which were probably installed as part of the SP upgrades):

- PI (R/3 Plug-In (PI) 2004.1 for R/3 Enterprise)

- PI_BASIS (PI_BASIS 2005_1_620)

Besides, this do we also need APPINT 200_620? There are several postings on SDN that indicate this. I am not sure why this is not just part of the PI and PI_BASIS packages.

The posting states to get this from:

http://service.sap.com/swdc

Then navigate to:

Support Packages and Patches->SAP NetWeaver->SAP NetWeaver components ( < SAP NW 04 )->SAP EXCHANGE INFRASTRUCTURE->SAP EXCHANGEINFRASTRUCTURE 2.0->Integration Server

But i am not able to navigate to XI 2.0 folder. I do not see that anywhere.

I do see some XI software for R/3 Enterprise at:

Support Packages and Patches -> SAP Application Components -> SAP R/3 ENTERPRISE -> SAP R/3 ENTERPRISE 47X200 -> Entry by Component -> XI Content

I see the following download

EAAPPL20009_0-10003309.ZIP Support Package 09 XI Content for EA-APPL EAAPPL20010_0-10003309.ZIP SP10 XI Content for EA-APPL 200 EAAPPL20011_0-10003309.ZIP SP11 XI Content for EA-APPL 200 EAAPPL20012_0-10003309.ZIP SP12 XI Content for EA-APPL 200

But these are not the files we need. We also looked at the Note 439915 - Exchange Infrastructure Integration Server 2.00

If you know where to get this software, please advise.

Thanks,

Jay

Hi Stefan,

Thanks. I am downloading the zip file now for CD 51019916 name: SAP Exchange Infrastructure 2.0 SR1.

One question - so besides the PI and PI_BASIS packages, I wanted to confirm that i need the APPINT 200_620?

Once i import this package, then i also apply all of the patches one by one - or do i just import the highest one?

Thanks for your help,

Jay

PI and PI_BASIS are not related to XI. These packages provide functionality to connect an R/3 with CRM. PI means plug-in.

You need APPINT 200_620 and ALL related patches. Like all ABAP patches, they have to be apllied one by one.

Hi Stefan,

The PI and PI_BASIS packages are XI related - since these packages have all of the XI transactions like SXMB_ADM, SXMB_MONI, etc. along with all of the XI roles, etc.

We were able to configure most of the steps required for ABAP proxies (R/3 Enterprise connection to the SLD running on the XI system, configuration of the R/3 Enterprise system as an application system with the XI system as the related integration server). When running SPROXY, we received the error because APPINT was not installed. But definitely most of the XI related code is there through the PI and PI_BASIS packages.

We will install the patches one by one.

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

Cheers,

Jay

Hi Jay,

That is new to me, but I have no 6.20 system to confirm.

Starting with 6.40 the XI/PI ABAP stuff is part of the package SAP_BASIS.

We also searched for APPINT and we got the patches but not the main software component:

SAPK-20002INAPPINT APPINT 200_620: patch 0002 Support Package

SAPK-20003INAPPINT APPINT 200_620: patch 0003 Support Package

SAPK-20005INAPPINT APPINT 200_620: patch 0005 Support Package

SAPK-200C2INAPPINT APPINT 200_620: CRT for SAPKB62055 Support Package

We could not find the main APPINT 200_620 support package. Did SAP remove this?
