Hi,
Can anyone please explain the difference or use case of calculate before aggregation in calculation columns. I did search in the forum and there were many helpful answers but couldn't find an explanation with examples.I am aware of the fact that by choosing calcuation before aggregation we could sum up , count or max and the logic is applied before aggregation but am not able to visualize the same in a real example. Can some one help pls?
Tnx,
Prem
Think about calculating the total value of a shopping cart, when you have the quantity and price of every item in the cart.
If you calculate the total value = total qty of all products * total price of all products, the result would be wrong. This is calculation after aggregation and in this case it gives the wrong result.
If you calculate the total value = ( Item1Qty * Item1Price ) + ( Item2Qty * Item2Price ) +... the answer would be right and this is calcuation before aggregation.
