How to connect one satellite system on two SolMans

Hi,

we have a two-system landscape for our Solution Manager 7.1 SP11.

Our central SLD system is PI, then via SLD bridge to Solman production and Solman test. Because we use system tracks in case of system changes, all of our satellite systems are configured to our Solman Prod.

Now we have to test the Scope and Effort Analyser and want to do that on Solman test. Therefore we need UPL data there. For this, the diagnostic agent is needed to be configured to the Solution manager. But the SMD Agent is already registered to Solman prod. So we installed a second SMD Agent on the sateillite system to connect with this second SMD instance to Solman test.

Is this the right way to connect one satellite system to two Solman systems?

thanks for your reply.

Well, for my understanding the SMD and DIA agent are just the same agents.

SMD = Solution Manager Diagnostic

DIA = Diagnostic Agent (?)

I am talking about the Diagnostic Agent, normally SID DAA. My iea was:

Satellite System ABC

     => DAA

          => connected to SolMan Prod

     => DAB

          => connected to SolMan QS

Is this possible? We just had trouble, because the second diagnostic agent causes locks of dialog processes of the satellite system. Because of this, I ask this question.

Hello Marco,

You are right.

You cannot connect an SMD agent of a satellite system to two solution manager systems.

You have to install two SMD agents in the satellite system for which the data transfer needs to be done - one for Test and one for Prod.

generally SMD agent is for solution Manager and DIA agent will be installed on satellite system

As per my understanding satellite system is connected to solman production and same satellite system you want to connect to solman dev

if that's the case , its not possible

only one agent will be connected to SMD and other will disconnect
