EWM outbound cycle issue for drop point determination

Former Member

Hi Experts,

When Production order is released or updated for MTS or MTO, we are carrying out picking activity.

This activity creates required HU but it does not determine the drop point on RF gun as well as does not create drop point task automatically.

If anyone has come across similar issue or handled this earlier, then your information shall be of great help.

Hi Siddhant,

Can you please give some more idea about your flow and drop point scenario.

Hi Suraj,

We have configured normal outbound scenario between ECC and EWM. We are carrying out outbound activity from RF gun through /scwm/rfui  instead of PRDO. When outbound activity is selected in RF gun, it takes the outbound delivery number and fetches all the data for outbounde delivery. After this picking when we want to do task of deliver to drop point, it has to show drop point reference on RF Gun as well as create a task for doing this activity.

These two processes are currently not happening. Please suggest.

Hi Siddhant,

I am not clear with your drop point means or scenario.

But below thing I can explain to achieve with assumption of missing destination bin. Just let me this is what you want.

If you want fixed droping point on varying picking storage type/bin. The update fix destination bin in WPT of your outbound scenario.

so when WPT is created system will take fixed destination bin.

If you want varying destination bin in 2010 then update putaway strategy for your outbound wpt and give sequence and create bins.

and if you have POSC then check storage control for fix destination and auto/product HU task.

Hi Siddhant,

what you describe is standard pick-HU scenario.

You have EWM outbound delivery, which you need to pick.

On your RF screen, you go:

04 Outbound processes

01 Picking

03 Picking by WR, where you enter your ODO number. Is that correct?

Then system prompts for HU number, which you can create here.

Whatever items - warehouse tasks you pick, will be put into this HU.

As Suraj writes, you can define the destination bin in your WPT settings for the process type you have configured for your outbound delivery item and is copied into new HU task, which is created automatically after you finish picking of particular WO. This destination bin will be your drop off point for all picked items.

You can also define destination bin by staging area determination in /SCWM/STADET_OUT. Where you can have your WPT and/or destination storage location, there are more options. /SCWM/STADET_ASS is part of the settings.

Then you can assign PSA to that specific bin.

Thanks Suraj and Petr for valuable information.

When I run  full cycle flow through RF Gun after having posting change and wave created with HU Label

it has 3 processes to follow in Outbound

1. Pick by picking label  : Works fine

2. Consolidation  : Works fine

3.Deliver to Drop point : Here its not able to genrate task wrt  Trolly number generated in consolidation.

I checked

1.  Product MAster Data : looks fine

2. WPT  :  Suspect here that particular field is missing for Puaway to drop point

3. POSC : it has 3 sequences and looks fine

a. Pick with Auto warehouse task

b. Consolidation

c. Putaway to drop point

In WPT config do you feel that specific tick is missing.

For WPT :  Putaway to shop floor Drop-Point

In Settings  for posting changes ; Posting change in bin has been set to : Post. Change in Bin

In Control for Putaway and stock removal :

Dest.Stor.Type and Dest. Stor. Bin  has been kept blank so that it determines automatically.

Hi Suraj and Petr,

thank you for yur information.  Issue was with the destination drop point data itself.  Since it was not correctly updated, system was not able to find the drop point so it was again taking Source Bin as final drop point.

Many thanks.
