Hi All,

I have installed HANA Studio (Version: 2.0.8), HANA Client on my machine and installed BODS on remote desktop. Operating system is Windows 7 64 bit.

When i tried to connect BODS using ODBC driver, I didn't see the option HDBODBC.

Should i need to install BODS on my machine to connect BODS??

Thanks,

Naidu

Hi Naidu,

You should install SAP HANA Client.

HDBODBC driver may not come along with HANA Studio (Version: 2.0.8). You need to install this separately.

Also if BODS Client and Server is on different machine, in that case HANA driver need to install on both the machines then only you will be able to access HANA database.

Naidu,

ODBC is a client interface; it needs to be installed on whatever computer the application that uses it runs on.

DataServices typically has two places where "it runs":

the DataServices server, where the actual jobs will run, and the computer on which the Designer component runs.

When using ODBC both systems needs to have the ODBC library installed, as both systems will access the database (e.g. the Designer to show you what tables are available, data preview, etc.).
