Hello All,
I would like to know the key differences between CSA (Central System Administration) and System Monitoring (which is part of technical monitoring) in Solution Manager 7.1. Which is preferrable among these and why? If CSA is still valid for Solman 7.1, then would there not be an overlap / duplication in system monitoring metrics?
Please clarify. I haven't got useful info on help.sap and SCN., hence posting this here.
Thank you.
Regards,
Shahid Ahmed
Hi Shahid,
Not sure.
Central System Administration:
To monitor task schedules, task logs and their status, and run tasks for related systems, define initial settings for the system administration environment.
SAP delivers, for example, component-specific task templates for the session with inactive task frequencies. You can change these inactive task frequencies to the SAP default task frequencies, or your own settings.
Operation tasks can be performed from the Solution Manager Administration Work Center, centrally.
Technical Monitoring:
Technical Monitoring and Alerting infrastructure helps you to improve the performance and health of systems in complex, heterogeneous landscapes. The following table shows the comparison of the Technical Monitoring and Alerting infrastructure with the traditional CCMS-based monitoring infrastructure
Configuration, Agent infrastructure, Landscape awareness, Mass maintenance.
