I have a formula field that computes a somewhat complicated average.
I would like to put this formula field in a crosstab. This works okay, except, of course, the crosstab wants me to choose a summary option (count, average, etc.)
Any way for me to put this formula field in the summarized cell but have it NOT compute a summary, since the formula field already has the correct amount?
The reason I want it in a crosstab is for the design. Everything looks exactly how I want it to...just need to solve this "summary of an already correct average" issue.
Thanks!
Abhilash gave me the correct answer:
Use an embedded summary to calculate the average.

If you use "Max" for the summary, you should get the correct value. I also use Max when I want to display text data in the summary (like 'X' to show that the column/row combination is a valid value.)

Hi Cheryl,
Try using either the Maximum/Minimum summary option for this formula field.

I tried max and min. However, it is taking the "largest" (or "smallest") raw number that was used to compute the average in the formula field and showing that in the cell.
But my formula field could be wrong.
I tried attaching the report as a .txt file, but I get an error saying "The content type of this attachment is not allowed."
I could email it, if you would like me to.
Thanks.
