Few Records missing after HANA Data base migration

Former Member

Dear All,

We were on SAP BI 7.0 version and have been migrated to SAP HANA Data base 3 months ago.

We have one data flow which exists from last 5 years. The data Flow is Cube --> DSO3 --> DSO2 --> DSO1-->Info Package

DSO1 is write optimized and DSO2 and DSO3  are standard DSOs.

After HANA data base migration, few delta records are missing from DSO2 to DSO3 which never happened prior to Migration.

Please note that we didn't change any logic between DSO2 and DSO3 in last 5 years and current version is SP6.

If anybody faced similar issue in your project please share with us the solution. Thanks for your time.

Regards,

Anjee

Hi Anje

What asettings are you using in the DTP? What is the processing mode? Is there semantic grouping set?

If the release is 740 i would suggest to install SP09-SP10 at least. If its 7.3x then i also would suggest a more recent version.

Hi All,

Thanks for your reply.

We are on BI 7.4 (HANA SP 6) and semantic grouping are not set for any field.

Keys in DSO3 are SHIPS Shipment ID, Order Number, Standard Item Code, GL Account and Invoice ID

Keys in DSO2 are SHIPS Shipment ID, Invoice ID and Freight Pkey.

We do derive GL Account in the end routine and Order Number, Standard Item Code are mapped from data fields of DSO2.

Processing Mode: Serial Extraction, Immediate Parallel Processing.

Settings are same in both DSOs.

Hi Anjee,

I doubt highly if this has anything to do with HANA vs your old DB.

This seems to be a normal problem with keys and/or lookup of the GL. Did you debug the lookup for the missing row in DSO3?

Yes Van,I did the debug and we can see the record. When we do the full load, we are not missing any record.

Hi Anjee,

If a full load does not miss anything, how do you reproduce the issue now?

Hi,

We are stuck at this place and not able to proceed further.

We didn't face this issue prior to HANA database migration.

If we don't find the solution, we would write a message to SAP.

Hi Anjee

There were some issues with the sorting of data. Therefore i would suggest to apply the notes like:

2143766

2037066

2147862

And also consider note 1358780 and 2065853.

If this doesn't work could you please tell us with some screenshots, as of what exactly is missing? How the data looks like in the source DSO? What is in the target? What is the expected result?

Hi Roland,

Thanks for providing the Notes. We will work on these Notes and let you know the feedback.

In case it doesn't help, I will provide you the screenshots. Thanks

Hello All,

Finally this issue has been resolved without implementing any notes.

We have activated DSO2, DSO3,Transformation and DTP in Development system and moved to Production and delta is working now.

Thanks all for your time.

Anjee

Hello Anjee,

Could you maybe tell a bit more on exacty what the situation is?

- Exact BW version

- Keys in DSO's

- Examples of data records missing

- Settings in DSOs
