Skip inspection for partial lot for the same purchase order (if first lot is accepted)

Gurus,

We have a specific requirement:

We have partial deliveries from the vendor against the same purchase order. Now the requirement is - continue inspection of partial lots till any one lot is accepted, then skip the remaining lots.

For example, if the first shipment from the vendor is accepted, we need to skip inspection for all the remaining deliveries against the same purchase order. However if the first delivery is rejected continue inspection for remaining partial deliveries till one is accepted - then skip the rest.

I know we can skip lots using dynamic modification rule. But can we do that w.r.t a purchase order? Is there any work around for that?

Thanks!

Hi,

You don't need to look after DMR to achieve this. Instead, set the indicator for 'X For each PO, batch and st location' in the Control Inslot against the Inspection type 01 in the QM view of material master. This will behave in following manner,

1. One inspection lot for the first GR. If UD valuation is accepted, no more inspection lots will generate for further GR and stock will be posted to unrestricted.

2. If UD valuation is rejected, inspection lot will again generate until accepted valuation is not given.

Prerequisites:

  • You maintain the same batch number. As soon as you change the batch number, new inspection lot will generate irrespective of the UD valuation.
  • You do the UD valuation before doing the second GR. If inspection lot is not closed and second GR is done, it will update the inspection lot quantity in the existing lot. Therefore, this will not create new inspection lot but only update the qty. until you keep the first condition.

Hope this is fair with your scenario.
