Characteristic values entering in Sales Document

Hi Team,

Actually I am a PP/ QM trainee,assigned with the task for providing the characteristics pop up at Sales order creation,in which values to be entered hence characteristics / Class are part of PP..

Client:  Door's mfg.business,

Requirement:Needs to provision of Characteristics pop up (Door length & Door Width ) -  at the time of Sales order creation & Sales person will be able to enter the values( length & Width required by customer)  in the characteristics value assignments.

Present scenario:as per the system design now they are entering in  in the customer material number column in Sales order.

Note: Client is not using Variant config. at all , no transfer of these characteristic values to production / any other modules;only needs to enter the values through Characteristics assignment instead of customer material number.

Actually client much more interest entering the input value(length and Width) through characteristics.

With the help of below thread & item category group value (changed NORM), able to get the pop up screen while sales order creation.
