Issue with Date Format after Webdynpro Java migration from 7.0 to 7.4 portal

Former Member

Dear Experts,

We have migrated Webdynpro Java applications from 7.0  to 7.4 Portal. After the migration, date format is not displaying as it is displayed in 7.0.

Portal 7.0 format : DD.MM.YYYY

Portal 7.4 format : MM/DD/YYYY

I have tested with same user id which is connecting with same backend and same LDAP.JCo settings also same in both portal. But results are different.

Is there any common date settings availble to control date format in portal?

Please help.

Thanks & Regards,

Kanagaraj

The date format is affected be the language of the User. What language is set on the Portal for the User you are testing with?

Hi Tobias,

Users language is English. User ids are maintained in LDAP server.

So you have the english DateFormat. If you set it to e.g. German you would have DD.MM.YYYY

Hi Tobias,

Same language maintained in portal 7.0 as well. It is working fine but not working in 7.4 portal.

Actually both 7.0 and 7.4 portal refers same LDAP server.

Well 7.4 formats the date language dependent, maybe 7.0 does not. Anyway you could try to set a fix language via request.mandatorylanguage. Take a look at this note --> http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/947081
