Hello together,

I?ve installed the WebAS 620 Demo on WinXP and everything worked fine. But during a new-installation (because of some mistakes) there is an abort on 36%. The messages are:

*****************************************************************

The problem seems to be on the xserver. If I start the serv.exe there are the following messages: (serv.exe -D 😎

Has anyone an idea?

Thanks in advance

Another : a few services sometimes go slow and sometimes fail on deployment - that is if you only have the base required memory and pc spec. more memory seems to solve a lot of these issues.

again... g'luck mate.

Hi Edwin,

Ouch! That looks serious.

I've skipped the 6.20 installation and went from 6.10 to the shortlived 6.30 version.(still has it). But I hope a little light may help.

If I had an error like yours the first place I would clean are files on System32\drivers\etc. 7210 and 7200 should be appropriately named on the 'services' file.

(If you are installing clean then these services shouldn't be there in the beginning)

It sounds like a networking error though - judging that it failed on the socket step. If you are on a standalone computer on an xp... On 6.3 it needed the MS Loopback adapter properly installed (it should appear connected/enabled on your network connections under 'Lan/High Speed Internet') before the setup with its own IP/Subnet mask.

Other than that... trying 6.4 would not be a bad idea.

I always like that eager sensation when a new CD arrives. Like early Christmas.

Goodluck!

I have a 6.20 but didn't try installing it as I have access at work.. I was looking for a 6.40 CD. Any Idea where I can get. I see a Demo/trial version ( 90 days ) on SDN. But i was looking for a CD..

Thanks

Hi Joerg,

I'm having exactly the same problem. Did you find a solution yet? I de-installed everything (directories, services, registry) but am not able to install.

Please let me know what worked for you.

did you deinstall the complete thing before reinstalling?

This definitely has to be done.

Hi Joerg,

basically I have no idea, but is there any hint in the file 'C:\sapdb\data\wrk\xserver.prt' ?

Perhaps some ports are blocked or users already exist from your former installation ?

Best Regards, Astrid
