Need answers for the SMP 3.0

Hi,

Could anyone please brief the below questions, that need to be clarified to the client..

Is workmanager is included in the SMP 3.0?

Why do we need a seperate Addon installation for Workmanager?

Is Oracle Database is inclued in the SMP 3.0?

Why do we need a seperate Oracle database required on SMP 3.0?

Can Agentry supports Android platform?

With only SMP 3.0 and SAP netviewer gateway can we develop native apps having these two?

We never used syclo term in SMP 3.0, and why the technology called syclo instead SMP?

I want you to understand first on the SMP3 architecture:

SAP Mobile platform 3.0 is a unified product having Sybase unwired platform (SUP), Syclo Agentry, Sybase mobilize and SAP's best practices. Dont miss it.

coming to your questions:

Is workmanager is included in the SMP 3.0? >>NO

>> SAP WM 6.1+ apps are supported on SMP3, you have to configure it before use.

Why do we need a seperate Addon installation for Workmanager? >

You have to install Add-ons in the SAP backend system to communicate with the client which contains bapis and object details.

Is Oracle Database is inclued in the SMP 3.0?  >>NO
Why do we need a seperate Oracle database required on SMP 3.0?

SMP3.0 SP05 and earlier version comes with DERBY DB as inbuilt database but from SP06 onward it has been replaced with SAP SQL Anywhere. This is only for DEVELOPMENT system.

For production system, you have to use one of DB2, MS-SQL, SAP HANA, SAP ASE, SAP SQL Anywhere, Oracle as custom database which will store SMP3 related information.

Can Agentry supports Android platform?  >> yes very much

Is workmanager is included in the SMP 3.0? - No, You get SMP 3 with Work Manager, not the other way.

Why do we need a seperate Addon installation for Workmanager? - Work Manager uses the add-on for the Moble objects also, it contans the config panel to change what bapi's \ Objects to call.

Is Oracle Database is inclued in the SMP 3.0? - No

Why do we need a seperate Oracle database required on SMP 3.0?  Oracle is one of the supported Database for Production use.  SQL Server, DB2, and ASE are also supported.

Can Agentry supports Android platform? - Yes

We never used syclo term in SMP 3.0, and why the technology called syclo instead SMP? Syclo the company that build the platform called Agentry.  Syclo was bought by SAP a few years ago, and the Agentry Platform became part of the SMP Platform (starting SMP 2.3), Agentry is used to run the Meta driven SMP Applications.
