Solution Manager Upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1

Dear Experts,

I want to Upgrade my solution manager from 7.0 ST-400 to 7.1 ST-710, Is it possible to upgrade directly or upgrade first 7.01 then 7.1 ,  Also give me brief how to install and upgrade latest version of solution manager

Hello,

You may be unable to generate a Maintenance Optimizer XML , with a Solution Manager 7.0 system. It is not supposed to be compatible with the new backend any longer.

Please check SAP Note 1577909. If you have ST 400 SP17 or lower, you have to perform the instructions of point 1.

Hi Alykhan,

Yes we can upgrade directly.

Before upgrade you can check PAM for Support OS Version, Database Version.

1. you can generate the stack.xml file by using MOPZ

2. you can use for Upgrade Tool SUM latest version

Dear Sir,

I have seen PAM , for 7.1 we need to kernel release 7.20 and Oracle 11g.

But I am afraid my satellite system still using Oracle 10g, I don't know when they will upgrade it .Only Solution Manager we can upgrade.So Can I upgrade 10g to 11g at Solution Manager while my satellite systems still having 10g.

My OS - Windows server 2003 64bit

DB - Oracle 10g

solution manager  has no dependency with satellite system , if customer is looking for an solman upgrade they can go-head

No, not with Solution Manager 7.0. The XML cannot be generated. You then need a stack DVD as detailed in 1577909.

Yes we can upgrade directly from 7.0 to 7.1

First generate  target stack file from mopz , before upgrading please let me know what all configuration has done in 7.0

if service desk and charm configuration there in 7.0 , its better to go head with new installation

Dear Rahul Sir,

Last few years not updation has been done , Recently we want to upgrade it.

No Help desk and charm configured in current solution manager.

Current Software component
