Star Joins...???

Hi All,

There came a concept of star joins in SP7 to be able to derive measures from multiple fact tables.

Now, with my HANA studio 2.0.7, I see the "Logical Join" has now changed to "Star Join" in Analytical views.

Can someone help me what changed with respect to Analytical views functionally?

The major point is that you now can model star joins directly in calc views.

That also means other calc nodes can feed into a star join, not just tables.

Thanks for the reply.

I understand we can do this in calculation views.

But with 2.0.7, I see this option in analytical views as in the screenshot I posted.

My question is to understand what changed with respect to Analytical views.

Hi Shyam,

Main feature of star join is that you can select measures from multiple fact tables. But this feature was available only for calculation view. From SP9 this feature is available for analytical view too.

Tried this out in the system.

Measures from multiple sources are still not allowed..
