We are planning to setup Data Services 4.2 environment using Windows clustering to support HA (Not for load balancing purpose) due to limitations of our licensing.
What are the best pracitces i need to consider before proceed with the windows clustering? We will be using 3rd party tool to execute Data Services Jobs. That means, we will be using a user created in IPS , that user will be used to launch the DS jobs from 3rd party tool. We will be installing IPS, Tomcat and Data Services all in one server.
I looked at KB article:
1579285 - Is Windows clustering supported with Data Services 4.x?
I am guessing above KB article mention about only Data Services.
Please share any documention on this topic and your experiences with windows clustering with Data services.
To add on here,
You may use Server grouping option where you job balancing can be managed upon available resources when you executes jobs in parallel or sequentially.
below snap depicts the concept
Also there could be scenarios when you need to decided how to install SAP DS while implementing server group concept

Per me this is a key for HA in DS, Thanks.
Best !

Hi Jawahar,
For Windows Clustering please use "Windows failover Cluster Manager", Please refer the link regarding the same
Hint: Using Failover Cluster Manager please Configure the Same for IPS, Data Services & Job Server
Settings in Windows Failover Cluster Manager:
