Line Items Change Tracking.

Hi SAP Sourcing Masters,

Looks like there is no change history tracking available for Line Items collection in SAP CLM. Did you come across any work around or enhancement which could be make decent effort to fill this gap in the product?

Share or suggest if you know any innovative approach to make change tracking applied for line items functionality.

Would like to know who changed what in line item collection.?

Hello Victor,

I saw a similar thing done once using custom scripts and a custom master data. If scripting knowledge is available you could effectively log a history of each line item.

Setup was done for Contract Line Items:

- 1 custom MD for each Contract

- extension definition at the MD level 1:1 with Contract Line Item

- custom script to insert a new line in ext def for each change in line item

* special consideration has to be given to the overhead introduced by this, especially if a high number of Line Items are frequent
