Hi Mili,

Usually we are using DEV for Development

QA for Testing purpose.

All XI componantas have to be installed seperate instance of WAS.

Thanks and Regards,

Chandu.

Hi Chandu and sekhar,

I really appreciate for the quick responses.

We have a DEV and QA in the same box but on different LPAR and not enough memory to run two XI instances.

Is there any way to use DEV XI instance in QA for testing. If so, can you provide some details related to that.

I really appreciate your input.

Thank you,

mili.

Sure, you can do this, but everyone is advising against it. When you are developing heavily, the environment will be unstable for others that are trying to test. You will probably find that you need to restart J2EE every now and then on DEV, and that probably will not make those testing happy.

Spend some money and buy separate environments, or hardware big enough to run DEV and QA on same hardware.
