Alternate for SAP Web Dispatcher in S4 HANA?

Hi all,

As per the S4 HANA Documentation and below link;

"For fact sheets and analytical apps, we recommend that you use SAP Web Dispatcher as reverse proxy server. Other options are possible but will not be described in the documentation."

What is the exact purpose of web dispatcher in this Scenario?

Please suggest alternatives for Web Dispatcher.

hello,

The WebDispatcher is used in this scenario to access the Gateway and/or the HANA DB, and/or the BackEnd system.

It is used to proxy by url filtering to route request to the correct system. This depends on the Fiori Apps you want to implement.

It is only necessary for Fact Sheet and Analytical apps, if you use only transactional Apps you can forget it.

You can use Apache as a reverse proxy, you find a document in the scn on that topic...
