Thanks Markus you were right.

I do not know how to grant points for your hint. I also have this to add to the solution, so if someone has the same problem:

When service pack is higher than SP-12, credential file location is different. It should be copied to

/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/AdobeDocumentServices/TrustManagerService/trust/credentials

(This folder is created automatically, you don't neet create it)

Then DocumentServiceConfiguration service can now find credential file from browser button.

This issue is mentioned with Note 727168.

After create alias 'ReaderRights', you have restart your J2EE engine.

I also have the same problem,

but when I try to install the .pfx file received from sap, I cannot select the file from the visual admin 'browse' window.

Anyone can help?

During the install, we specified the 'ZIP' file instead of the .PFX I would like to restart ADS credential installation from scratch.

Hi Simon,

it is my understanding that you need to actually select the PFX file, not the ZIP, so unzip your file first. Also ensure that you have the correct version of the ADS Configuration Guide. This document gets updated regularly in Service Marketplace, and you should use the version that corresponds to your installation and SP level.

Kind regards,

I have the same Error with the UsageRights:

My installation:

  • SAP NetWeaver Application Server 7.00/Java AS 7.00

  • xAcf_NW711_SP00

J2EE 7.00 SP14

I installed and configured the credentials after the Adobe Document service documentation, but there is still the same problem:

I FOUND THE SOLUTION FOR MY PROBLEM!!

oh man, i have to read configuration guides exactly!!

...The problem was i entered in Sha1 the password, which comes with the credential. But it have to be blank, if your Alias is ReaderRights

Alias: ReaderRights

Type: P12

P12 File: xxxx_EXPXXXXX.pfx

Sha1: xxxxx <----

it have to be blank if you entered Alias: ReaderRights

Password: XXXXX <----

here the password from txt credential file

Password: XXXXX <----

here the password again from txt credential file

If you entered ReaderRights in the Alias field, you must not make any entry in the sha1 field.

Now the Adobe Interactive Forms are running in my dynpro applications

I think the key to the problem is the following error message:

"Processing exception during a "UsageRights" operation"

The UsageRights operation assigns specific rights to the PDF (e.g. allow form fill-in, aloow digitial signature) so that this functionality is enabled in Reader. Did you follow the instructions of the configuration guide on Page 23 ff?

Did you request a usage rights credential from SAP (see SAP Note 736902)? Did you install the credential according to the instructions. Also after you instal the credential you will need to re-start Web AS.

Hope this helps.

yes, i followed the instructions in the ADS config

guide exactly and the page 23 instructions

Hi Dennis,

Which version of the ACF did you use? Is this one related to your NW version (SP9)?

Also check all Active-X (and scripting) settings in your browser.

Since you have posted another problem related to ADSUser, I think you need to solve that problem first in order to display a correct pdf page.

cheers,

Noel

maybe that is my problem, i installed the SP11 version

of ACF while all the rest of my software (webAs, NWDS

and ADS comes from SR1 SP9 DVDs, dated 11-2004)

but is there any way to uninstall ACF and drop back to

a lower version?

Former Member

If you installed them using the self extracting zip file (exe), you can launch it and you will be presented with the option to repair or uninstall the dll's. If you automagically (automatically) downloaded them as part of the ADOBECONTROL.CAB from your application, you can remove the cab file from the browser temp files. You will need to get the older version and reinstall (either to your server for download or manually via the ACF.exe.)

thanks Brenda, we did uninstall the xACF11.exe file

and installed xACF.exe that came with same dvds

as the rest of the software

but now having ActiveX problems, we turned on the

script debugger and get this error message

CSF.api.acf.notifyHooked("EGPD.InteractiveView.InteractiveForm2")

this object does not support this property or

method

have you ever heard of that type of error

maybe i still don't have the right version ACF

(tried on several different client machines,

Windows home and professional, Windows 2000 professional

Hello Dennis,

one more question... Which version of Reader are you using? SP9 only supports Reader 6.0.2 and not Reader 7. In order to user Reader 7 you need to install xACF11.exe which only works with Web AS SP10 and 11.

Former Member

we are using Adobe Reader 6.0.2 on all the tested clients

Former Member

So from this information your basic environment seems to be correct. Based on the error message I still suspect there is an issue with the Reader Right (Usage Right) Operation in the ADS. Unfortunately I have no further detailed knowledge how to analyze this. I suggest you open an OSS message for SAP support with the information you provided here. They will be able to dig deeper into the log messages.

Former Member

I have seen other issues with the 6.0.1 and 6.0.2 versions of the reader, but not the one you described. (most of my issues were within IE itself). We have finally gotten a very stable test environment with sp11, (and a few update notes), adobe reader 7.0.0 (and some testing on 7.0.1) and the latest ACF files provided. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Also note for future reference, when removing the acf files from the local client, check task manager to make sure that the acroread32.exe is not still in memory. (you also have to close the browser if you have previously viewed a pdf files). The dll's won't properly uninstall/deregister if this is still loaded.
