System Copy + Installation for Solution Manager 7.1

Dear Experts,

I have just finished system copy(backup/restore) + installation for Solution Manager 7.1 in new server using SQL Server 2008.

As my experience in System Copy for BW before, after finished the system copy, I need to run SWPM and click Generic Installation Options>MS SQL Server>Database Copy Completion in SWPM. However now, for Solution Manager 7.1, I did not found that option in SWPM. Could you please advise?

Hi,

When I read SAP Note and SWPM, it says that Database Copy Completion is only applied for SAP Netweaver 04 (Web AS 6.40 and lower) In my case, I did System Copy for Solution Manager 7.1. So, I think I do not need to do the Database Copy Completion.

Luckily I did not start first. In SAP Note it mentions;

Before you run the "Schema Conversion" option of the SAP Tools for MS SQL Server make sure that:

• You have a current backup of the database.

So, I need to take DB backup first before start.

Dear Fadzly Iqbal,

SWPM have 2 versions. You should use version for SAP NetWeaver 7.0x (70SWPM10SPxx_PL.SAR).

Thank you. But I did not found it in 70SWPM10SP07_5-20009707.sar

I can only found it in SWPM10SP07_5-20009707.SAR

It is really weird. I did the system copy+installation for Solution Manager 7.1 in 70SWPM10SP07_5-20009707.sar but now for database copy completion I need to open in SWPM10SP07_5-20009707.SAR

Do you know the reason why SAP did like that?

Dear Fadzly Iqbal,

You should use SAP Solution Manager -> Software Life-Cycle Options -> System Copy -> <Your_Database> -> etc. If you have SAP Solution Manager 7.1 powered by SAP HANA you should select this product.
