Hi experts,
we want to make a system copy from our Live-System to Qualiy-System.
I've heared from a copy function, which can copy the system from a backup and is already doing all important steps (changing SID, un-scheduling jobs, ...).
Does anybody know a guide, which guides me through a system copy of ECC-System (ehp 6) on Sybase ASE 15.7?
Kind regards
I've found this documentation (see at the end), so it seems that the Copy is pretty simple on ASE.
If I understand correctly, I can make the copy simple from an ASE dump.
But my question is now, does it really change the DB-SID in target system, or it is it just a 1:1 copy?
Hopefully not.
Second question, do I only have to copy the <sid>-DB, right? Not saptools, and others....

Hello Sriram,
I've tested yesterday and works really, really good.
But just one thing.
In SWPM I define the database-devices durring the copy/installation.
I tried to setup the same structure like in source-system.
Normally with have splitted the data-files (001, 002, ...).
Is there also a possibility, to do this durring copy-process with SWPM?
Or how can this be handled?
Kind regards
