Hi Experts,
We need to restore our solution manager system, as we took backup in Tape of whole landscape consisting of Dev, Qty and Prod systems.
Can you please let me know how to restore solman system from that backup. What files do we need to restore?
Any suggestions regarding this will be greatly helpful.
Regards,
Krishna.M
Hi,
I think you can have a look at SAP note 825473.
825473 - IBM i: Online backup from V5R3M0
It describes which library and directory you should backup.
In your case these files must be restored, but there is no guide/document for this operation.
Best regards,
Daniel

do you use LicPgm (BRMS for IBM-i) backup/restore ? - BRMS = Backup/Recovery Media Services
do you want to restore on the same system you backup before ?
please have a look at chapter-22 or chapter-23:

Hi Christoph,
Thanks for your quick response..
Actually it is a client system, we dont know what method they used to take backup.
As per our knowledge they took total AS400 backup in tape.
do you want to restore on the same system you backup before ?
Yes, we need to restore on the same system. we need to tell the client what files they need to restore from the backup for solman.
Thank you in Advance..

Solman is a double-stack SAP-system (ABAP + Java)
so usually all the database-files should be located in 2 database-collections (schema):
=> R3<SID>DATA
=> SAP<SID>DB
maybe you will have a seperate DB-Journalreceiver-Library e.g. R3<SID>JRN
so, if you are sure to only restore Database, you try:
RSTLIB R3<SID>DATA ........
RSTLIB SAP<SID>DB .....
but you should kow, there are many so called IFS-Files (streamfiles) in several directorys
/usr/sap/<SID>/........
/sapmnt/<SID>/.......
Hi Jana,
I think, you should organize some consulting for this (even when you might be a consulting company w/o iSeries knowledge)
Christoph explained this in detail - it is not possible to describe the exact syntax here, as you need some knowledge yourself and we do not know the tape names, the order etc. ...
Sorry & Regards,
