Hi everybody,

In MM where we will assign the purchasing group in the enterprise structure because there is no option for assign the above.

How it will be linked?

Hi,

A purchasing group can be an individual or a group of individuals.A key for a buyer or group of buyers responsible for certain purchasing activities.They are Internally responsible for the procurement of a material or a class of materials. There is no need to assign this to any Enterprise structure, This is mainly used for BW reporting. It is based upon your company strategy to have different purchase groups for different material or for different sites. You can assign this in material master manually and You need to manually enter during Purchase order creation. The main purpose is to identify in Reporting.

Usually in enterprise structure the purchasing org is assigned to company code in Tcode <b>OX01</b> and to plant in Tcode <b>OX17</b>

A purchasing organisation is nothing but a frontal org responsible for different activities like processing of request, procurment , etc...

A purchasing organisation can exist without being assinged to a company code, where its plant specific.

or, it can be assigned to several company codes where its corporate group wide purchasing,

or, can be assigned to one company code where its called compnay sprecific purcahing.

Dear Kanan,

The link is in the background i.e when you maintain purchase group in the SPRO in materials management-purchase-create purchase group autometically it will available in the dropdown menu of Purchasing documents.Hence no need of linking it.

purchasing group is just a responsible/authorised group of people who are responsible for certain releases of PO to certain vendors .
