Hello guys,

Here i am again, the uber newbie on IBM i lol

After i upgraded Kernel from 701 PL150 to 721 PL 417 on DEV and QAS systems on IBM i V6R1, CL from QSTRUP/QGPL stopped working. What i saw is that after the upgrade the subsystem name of SAP systems changed from R3_<SNR> to SAP<SNR><SID> Is this normal behaviour? Is there a note that explains this change in the subsystem name?

SNR= System number

DEV and QAS Startup old mandate is SAP<SID>69/STARTSAP SID(SID) INSTANCE(*ALL) DLTSPLF(*YES)

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for you kind support.

Hi, Martim,

yes, there were several changes starting with Kernel 7.20 and higher:

- renaming of subsystems (*SBSD) from R3_<instanceNo> to SAP<instanceNo><SID>

  e.g. from R3_35 to SAP35ERP

- Jobs are no longer running with <SID>OFR, new jobs are running with user <SID>ADM

- fix naming of the kernel-Library SAP<SID>IND,  (before it was like SAP<SID>UC ... or something else

please see:

maybe there are a lot of more sap-notes to read .......
