Team,

Check the below scenario for reorder planning.

MRP type for FG is V1 in material master  and I set value for reorder point

For component also V1 and reorder point

Planning strategy for FG is 40 and for component not strategy

When am running MRP for FG system considering sales order and reorder point value for planned order

But for component system is only considering the reorder point and no demand is considering

Is this standard configuration I need system to consider reorder point and demand while creating planned order components .

Thanks to help

Vijesh,

In V1 MRP Type configuration include external requirements field if it is set as 2 External requirements within replenishment lead time then only those requirements which falls within the RLT considered for planning.

See below SAP help info

The reorder point for a material is 30 pieces and the current warehouse stock is 35. A customer requirement exists for 10 pieces for a requirements date in three weeks. The replenishment lead time for the material is one week.

If indicator 1 External requirements in total horizon is set, the system takes the customer requirements into account in the next planning run. This means, the system creates an order proposal because the system considers the warehouse stock as having fallen below the reorder point (35 pcs - 10 pcs = 25 pcs) even if the requirements date is not until after the replenishment.

If indicator 2 External requirements within the replenishment lead time is set, the system does not include the customer requirement with a requirements date outside the replenishment lead time. In this example, the system would not include the customer requirement in the planning run for two weeks.

Vijesh,

To add to expert KK's nice explanation, V1 by default will only consider Sales requirements and manual reservations.

I assume that some of the 'demand' that you have noticed not being considered for your components are the dependent reservations from your FGs Production orders.  This is normal for V1 MRP type in an unmodified system.

If you wish to include dependent reservations, you can create a new MRP type which is a copy of V1, but with the checkbox "Order Reservation" checked. OMDQ.

Hi Vijesh,

As the MRP type is V1 system only considers reorder point planning  it will not cosider demand.
