Hi,

We are working on a shipper scenario, whereby in legacy system the carriers can update the shipment status and based on the status updation requirement is that EM should also have the same visibility on statuses from the legacy system.Can the experts comment on this

Just send an Event Message and create a rule to change the status.

Can you kindly provide some details about the activities to be used for achieving the above functionality and how can the EM system directly interact with the status change in the legacy system.

Will it be driven only via config?

Hi,

if it is a non SAP system you have to code this. Either via direct RFC calls to EM if possible. Or maybe using PI/Webservices/IDOC etc. Its hard to say without knowing the functionality of the legacy system. But it is definitely not only config. In SAP Service Marketplace you should find a docu about the Event Message BAPI with further hints.
