Printer appears to be working properly but barcodes won't print properly out of SAP

Hi All,

We have recently configured a printer  in SAP (model:Ricoh MP 2554).

Printing scenarios in our landscape:

In our landscape we use windows print cluster and the printers are configured on the print clusters.

Now when a user triggers a print....it goes to print print cluster and then the printer.

Issue:

Printer appears to be working properly but barcodes won't print properly out of SAP.

So our concern is what could be the issue. Do we need to request the Windows team

to install the appropriate bar code drivers on the windows print cluster??

The device type we choose for configuring printer(Ricoh MP 2554) is HPLJ4: HP Laserjet 4 Series PCL -5.

Access method is: Print using Barkleys protocol.

Please help to resolve the issue.

Hello Vicky,

what exactly will be printed instead of the barcode? Simple numbers, or "nothing"?

Also: which barcode technology is used? The "old" barcode technology, or a different one?

Regarding the label/barcode options from SAP, they are all detailed in the following SAP note:

1557674 - Overview of bar code printing from SAP

Depending on the barcode required it is perhaps necessary for you to contact the vendor of the printer/barcode in order to obtain the correct sequence to turn on the barcode for printing.

Hi Vicky,

Could you please test the printer after..

1. Click on left hand top corner of saplogon pad --> Choose option --> Frontend printing (from the left Pane) --> Click on Configure Front end Print button --> Tab SAPWIN Processing --> Set Spool
Format Default.

2. Next also try Also try setting - Removed the check mark on the "Transparent Bitmaps" setting
in OTHER tab in the same window.
