We have followed all the procedure of foreign trade and want to carry out legal control check. Unfortunately sales order is not able to recognize the licence by default. We had to manually assign the licence master every time using VX22N option. Once the licence master is assigned we could see the same in sales order export control data. Delivery gets created. But if we go and check VX22n and do a legal control simulation sales order appears in Red light and says no valid licence is determined. We are not sure why exactly this error shows up in legal control simulation even though delivery gets created. Also we observed that The field "Change indicator"(VBEX-MODCO) has an influlence on the licence master determination. If we select "B" then only delivery gets created. If "A" is selected in Licence master System is not able to recongnize the licence master and shows as "no possible licence found". We are not using GTS. To summarise questions are

1) Why system is not automatically determining the licence master?

2) Eventhough delivery gets created after licence master is manually assigned in cockpit why Sales order appears in Red light in legal simulation?

3)What is the significance of changes indicator "A" and "B" in licence master?

Hi,

1 - check if ALL the information provided in the license master matches with sales order/ material information. For ex - if you are using sales order number and ECCN code in the license, you will not see the license applied automatically to the sales order if ECCN code is not matching with material in the sales order line.

3 - If you use A and someone makes any change to the sales order, license is redetermined. This removes the applied license from the order - You cannot deliver in this case. It is recommended to use B if user is sure about the license number - order combination. System cannot overwrite this.

2 - Check if point 3 is responsible for this.

Thanks Chintan for the reply. As i mentioned if we select "B" and manually assign the licence number it gets applied and same can be seen in Sales order header and also delivery gets created. But if we go to legal simulation for the sales order it still shows in Red and gives an error message No possible licence. If we can see the licence associated with sales order number and also delivery gets created successfully, why does it show in Red light in Legal simulation ?

Hi,

Legal simulation does not take manual steps into account. It tries to search for available license based on the data available (not manipulated manually). So if you are testing and trying to apply the license automatically, simulation is the right thing to do. If users are looking to see whether they can ship the order or not, they should not use simulation.
