Hello SAP APO gurus:
I just have a general question. Is it common to have APO plan safety stock at finished good and raw material level, rather than just CIF the safety stock values over from ECC? Does anyone know if there is a pros / cons documentation that explains why someone should use APO for safety stock planning vs ECC? (For instance, the safety stock value in ECC material master says to always keep 50 pieces in safety stock. APO might suggest a different value to keep in safety stock based on some parameters (usage, etc)).
Also, what is the difference between standard safety stock planning and advanced safety stock planning in APO?
Thanks in advance.
Andrea
Hello Andrea,
There are advance safety stock planning method available in APO.
B - Safety stock from location product master same as ECC material master
SZ - Safety days's supply from location product master
SM - Max. of SafeStk and safety days' supply from loc. prod. master
MB - Safety stock (time-dependent maintenance)
MZ - Safety days' supply (time-dependent maintenance)
MM - Max. of SafeStk and safety days' supply (time-depend. maint.)
